SINGAPORE – Jadestone Energy intends to start an infill drilling campaign on the company’s recently acquired Stag oil field offshore Western Australia.

The Stag 49-H well will be followed later in the year by another infill well on the offshore Montara oil field, and plans are in progress for a three-well light intervention program at Montara.

This will include what the company described as a high potential operation within the Skua-11 wellbore, targeting bypassed crestal oil pay in the Skua field.

Activity is due to start in 2Q. According to Jadestone, the capital cost for accessing the resource should be a fraction of the outlay for a brand new well.

At theNam Du and U Minh fields offshore Vietnam, the company is progressing front-end engineering design, gas sale and purchase agreement negotiations, offshore surveys, and tendering for major contracts.

All should be finalized during 3Q along with financing arrangements, with field development sanction and a final investment decision anticipated later in 2019.

Jadestone’s project team in Ho Chi Minh City will prepare for the detailed engineering, design, and construction phase, with first gas from both fields targeted in 2021.
