INVERGORDON, UK – Port of Cromarty Firth is providing services for its 700th drilling rig.
The semisubmersibleWest Phoenix arrived on April 8 and is due to remain at the port for around two months to undergo work on its thrusters.
The first rig sailed into the Port just over four decades ago in February 1978.
Captain Calum Slater, General Manager, said the latest arrival, “for repair work rather than storage, highlights the positive signs we are seeing from theNorth Sea.
“We expect more rigs to leave the Firth this year and return to work…”
