LONDON – TELE-FONIKA Kable (TFKable) is acquiring subsea umbilicals and power cables designer and manufacturer JDR Cable Systems.

TFKable manufactures 25,000 types of wires and cables, with six production facilities across Europe and sales offices globally. The company, based in Poland, employs more than 3,000 people and operates a cable waste recycling department in Poland.

The two companies have collaborated previously, with TFKable supplying water-blocked power cores for JDR’s cable and umbilical systems.

JDR says its complex subsea systems, used to power and control their offshore operations, will enhance the range of cable solutions TFKable can provide to its customers.

TFKable plans to maintain JDR’s operations in their current locations.

The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and consents, should close later in the current quarter.
