Deep Blue vessel departs Gibraltar yard following overhaul

Gibdock has completed a repair and renovation program for TechnipFMC’s subsea construction vessel Deep Blue during a scheduled drydocking.

The project involved steel and piping renewals, hull and tank surface blasting and recoating, and machinery overhauls to ensure peak condition of the vessel for the next five years.

In Dock No.1, Deep Blue was raised 3.7 m to rest on 428 blocks so that its eight thrusters could be removed for overhauls.

After its departure from the dock, another pipelay vessel sailed in.

Currently Gibdock is also overhauling a jackup platform, which will work offshore Australia.
