CHAOYANG, BeijingCNOOC reported that China's first self-developed submarine water injection tree was officially put into use.

This is designed to improve the recovery rate of old oil fields in China's offshore oil industry.

CNOOC says the water injection tree is one of the core equipment pieces of the underwater production system of the oil field. It connects the oil layer deep in the formation with the underwater water injection pipeline device of the platform, and it is designed to increase the production of the old oil field through the filtered seawater with a maximum pressure of about 17 megapascals.

The seabed water injection tree is 3.5 m long, 3.2 m wide and 3 m high, and the overall weight is nearly 22 tons.
