Azule Energy, the joint venture between bp and Eni, has agreed to farm into 42.5% of Block 2914A in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia.

LUANDA, AngolaAzule Energy, the joint venture between bp and Eni, has agreed to farm into 42.5% of Block 2914A in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia.

The current partners are Rhino Resources (operator, 85%), NAMCOR (10%) and Korres Investments (5%).

The work program calls for two potentially high-impact exploration wells, with the first set to spud by the end of this year.

Pending regulatory approvals, Azule also has the option to become operator of the surrounding PEL85. It will be the joint venture’s first investment outside Angola.
