HOUSTON VAALCO Energy is working on locations for its next drilling campaign at the Etame Block offshore Gabon, with operations set to start in late 2024, the company said in a results update.

It is also maintaining its focus on high production uptime and enhancements to minimize decline until the drilling campaign begins.

In October 2022, production from Etame switched to an FSO with related field reconfiguration processes. Work continues to optimize production of the new flowline configurations through the Etame complex for final processing before being pumped to the FSO.

In tandem, attention to individual well and chemical injection optimization and facility pipelines has led to more stable operations.
