ABERDEEN, UK — Interventek will supply its Bore Selector technology to Well-Safe Solutions’ Well-Safe Guardian semisub for a well decommissioning program this year in the North Sea.
In addition, the company will provide life of tool support including training, services and equipment spares.
Bore Selector allows use of a monobore riser or riser-less system for intervention on a dual bore christmas tree. Dual bore interventions can be conducted without having to return the system to surface to realign the riser for annulus bore access. In turn, that enables access to a large number of wells in a shorter period of time, Interventek claims, with greater operational efficiency.
The system is positioned between the tree running tool and the lower riser package and employs an actuated flapper that can be operated via a standard ROV interface or hydraulic surface controls.
The flapper position directs the wireline toolstring into the production bore or the annulus. A bi-directional ball valve integrated into the annulus access route facilitates circulation of fluids during operations.
