Statoil assigns Castberg flowlines to Subsea 7

Statoil has contracted Subsea 7 to work on flowlines for the Johan Castberg field development, 240 km (149 mi) offshore Hammerfest in the Barents Sea.

LUXEMBOURG – Statoil has contracted Subsea 7 to work on flowlines for the Johan Castberg field development, 240 km (149 mi) offshore Hammerfest in the Barents Sea.

The scope covers design, coating, fabrication, and installation of a 53-km (33-mi) rigid flowline, including 34 km (21 mi) of pipe-in-pipe flowline.

Subsea 7 will handle project management and engineering from its offices in Stavanger, and fabrication at the company’s spoolbase at Vigra, Norway.

Offshore operations will follow during 2020.
