Offshore staff
LAKSEVAAG, Norway – Statoil has awarded Fugro a long-term contract to provide positioning of all its operated drillings rigs offshore Norway and associated vessels.
Fugro’s positioning systems, using all available navigation satellites (GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and Galileo), will be permanently installed on the facilities.
The contractor claims that by remotely configuring the offshore systems from its onshore bases, mobilization time will be reduced with fast-track operations resulting.
