FORNEBU, Norway – Aker Solutions and software provider Cognite have agreed to collaborate on the development of digital solutions to improve efficiency of energy assets.
This will involve Aker Solutions using Cognite’s industrial data platform to compile and analyze large volumes of data from offshore installations, offering the owners suggestions for performance improvements at any stage of the asset’s life.
“Capturing and organizing large volumes of complex industrial data is crucial to realizing the full potential of digital technologies,” said Astrid Onsum, chief digital officer at Aker Solutions.
Cognite’s platform aggregates and structure large amounts of data from all types of industrial systems, from real-time sensors to equipment hierarchies, maintenance logs, process diagrams and 3D computer-aided design models.
Recently, Aker Solutions also formed Software House, an initiative designed to build on the company’s existing technology to develop new software products for energy facilities.
