LONDON – Premier Oil expects appraisal drilling to start later this year or in early 2019 on the Zama oil discovery in block 7 in the Sureste basin offshore Mexico.

Offshore Indonesia, Premier’s BIGP development project in Natuna Sea block A is on budget and schedule for first gas in 2019, and production will backfill the company’s existing Singapore and domestic market contracts.
The company has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Petrovietnam and SKK Migas (on behalf of the Indonesian government) concerning future gas sales to Vietnam from the offshore Tuna field (Premier 65%).
Premier has since initiated a farm-out process ahead of further appraisal drilling in the area planned for 2019.
