HOUSTON – Noble Energy’s gas production offshore Israel recently averaged 997 MMcf/d, a new record for the company.
The increase was driven mainly by continued natural gas demand in power generation, and came despite interruptions due to maintenance at theTamar field during the latter part of September and early October.
Noble has upped its estimate of the field’s recoverable resources by 10% to 11 tcf, reflecting the results of ongoing reservoir modeling and learnings from the Tamar-8 well, drilled and completed earlier this year.
Work on thedeepwater Leviathan gas project is currently more than 23% complete, with all main equipment and major contracts secured. Construction of the production platform has started and the project remains on budget and on schedule for first gas by the end of 2019.
Offshore Equatorial Guinea, better than anticipated production from the Alba field followed the conversion of two wells from natural gas injection to production wells, Noble added.
