LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands – Fugro’s MV Kobi Ruegg is set to start its first project in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.
The three-year-old, 58-m (190-ft) long vessel, contracted bySaipem, will deploy a large diameter piston core system to obtain soil samples from the ultra-deepwater Zohr gas field. Its next assignments will be geophysical surveys for Pico and Shell.
It is equipped with a comprehensive range of geophysical survey and geotechnical sampling equipment and a Seaeye Panther ROV.
From its new home port of Abu Qir, it will undertake marine site characterization services for Fugro’s clients in the Eastern Mediterranean and Red Sea.
