LONDON – EnQuest has issued a progress report on its various development programs in the UK North Sea.

In the northern sector, although water injection performance has improved at Thistle/Deveron, issues with the produced water system caused an outage which lasted around two weeks.

At Heather/Broom, lower water injection has impacted production, partly offset by good production efficiency. Production-improving chemical treatments have been completed at West Don and Don Southwest.

In the central sector, the focus at the Greater Kittiwake Area (GKA) and associated Scolty/Crathes tieback has been on optimizing production and maintaining high levels of plant uptime.

The Mallard/Gadwall water injection flowline replacement has been completed. At Scolty/Crathes, the reservoir has been out-performing expectations with strong production uptime has been very high.

At Alma/Galia, successful optimization measures related to power, produced water and sea water injection, led to very high uptimes on theEnQuest Producer. A workover program is planned next year to replace certain electric submersible pumps.

Since theKraken heavy-oil field development came onstream in June, the four wells from drill center 1 (DC1) and three others from drill center two (DC2) have produced above expectations and with stabilized flow rates, in line with the field development plan.

One DC2 well has tested at a rate well above 10,000 b/d/ The DC3 wells are nearing completion, ahead of schedule, and plans are under way to drill DC4 in 2018.

Kraken’s second production processing train was brought online in November. This and DC3 should help the company deliver 50,000 b/d during 1H 2018.

EnQuest now estimates the full-cycle project capex at $2.4 billion, 25% down on the original sanctioned cost of $3.2 billion, due to efficient drilling for DCR and lower market rates for the remaining subsea campaign.

Offshore Malaysia, the company has executed a compression reliability improvement plan at the PM8/Seligi production facilities.

Over the longer term, the company plans further investment in idle well restoration, facility improvements and upgrades, well workovers, and new drilling/secondary recovery projects to increase ultimate recovery.
