MHWirth to equip West White Rose drilling platform

Wood Group Canada Inc. has contracted Akastor subsidiary MHWirth to supply drilling equipment, engineering, and services for Husky Energy’s West White Rose project offshore eastern Canada.

LYSAKER, NorwayWood Group Canada Inc. has contracted Akastor subsidiary MHWirth to supply drilling equipment, engineering, and services for Husky Energy’s West White Rose project offshore eastern Canada.

At the heart of the development will be aplatform supported by a concrete gravity structure, 350 km (217 mi) southeast of the Newfoundland coast.

The platform’s main function will be drilling, with limited processing facilities and permanent accommodation.

MHWirth CEO Finn Amund Norbye claimed that this was “the first complex offshore drilling package awarded in the market in the past several years.”
