ABERDEEN, UKAzinor Catalyst has awarded TWMA a £1-million ($1.3-million) contract to provide drill cuttings containment and processing services on the semisubmersible Ocean Guardian.

Catalyst has contracted the rig to drill two wells in the UK central North Sea: the first is an exploration well on the Partridge prospect, due to spud this month, followed by the Agar appraisal well in September.

TWMA’s scope covers provision of offshore personnel, drill cuttings containment and onshore drill cuttings processing under a three-year contract, with two one-year extension options.

Marlene Mitchell, the company’s sales director, said technologies to be applied will include EfficientC, which allows collection and containment of the drill cuttings offshore before transport onshore.

From there, drill cuttings will be treated by the TCC RotoMill at the company’s Peterhead facility north of Aberdeen.
