LONDON– Total has contracted the drillship Noble Globetrotter II for one well offshore Bulgaria.
The contract, with an estimated 100-day primary term, is expected to start in late September 2017 and end in late December 2017.
Noble added that in addition to day rate for this contract, the rig will also continue to receive the $185,000/d idle rate throughout the duration of this well and up to 730 days, as part of previously announced contract amendment for the rig.
In December 2016,Noble and Shell amended long-term contracts on three ultra-deepwater drillships including the Noble Globetrotter II. Shell was granted and exercised the right to idle the Noble Globetrotter II for a period of up to 730 days. During the idle period, a negotiated rate of $185,000/d will be paid.
