HOUSTON– Erin Energy expects the drillship Pacific Bora to spud the Oyo-9 development well offshore Nigeria next month and complete operations next year.
The well could increase the Oyo field’s production by 6,000-7,000 b/d of oil, doubling Erin’s current production.
Tieback of the Oyo-7 well to the FPSO would add a further 1,200 b/d.
Erin is also discussing a possible extension to the contract with Pacific Drilling, depending on funds, to include one or two wells in the prolific Miocene geological zone in the OML 120.
ThePacific Bora is a sixth generation double-hulled drillship.
