RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras’ production in Brazil last month averaged 2.18 MMboe/d, 3.9% up on the figure for April.
This was due mainly to start-up of operations at the Lula field southern area project in the Santos basin, through the P-66platform; restoration of production at platforms P-37 (Marlin field in the Campos basin) and FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reiss(Lula field); and a new production well coming onstream in the Marlim Sul field in the Campos basin.
Petrobras’ presalt output was 5.1% higher in May than in April, and 37% higher than in May 2016.
Oil output at overseas fields was 65,000 b/d, up 1% on April, due mainly due to production starting at a new well on the St. Malo field in the US Gulf of Mexico.
