SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has started production from its Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) block off western Ghana, three months ahead of schedule.
The development covers theSankofa Main, Sankofa East and Gye-Nyame fields, 60 km (37 mi) offshore, with combined resources of around 770 MMboe comprising 500 MMbbl of oil and 40 bcm of non-associated gas. Produced gas is dedicated to Ghana’s domestic market.
TheFPSOJohn Agyekum Kufuor is designed to produce up to 85,000 boe/d from 18 subsea wells. A 63-km (39-mi) subsea pipeline will transport the gas to onshore receiving facilities in Sanzuke for processing and delivery to the national grid, supplying around 180 MMcf/d.
Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi said: “The launch of OCTP will provide gas to Ghana for over 15 years and the resulting electricity will give a real boost to the country’s development.”
Other partners in the OCTP block are Vitol and Ghana National Petroleum Corp.
