MARSEILLE, FranceBOURBON and Kongsberg Maritime have signed a collaborative agreement on connected and autonomous offshore vessels.

They plan to explore and implementtechnical and digital solutions to improve safety and optimize the cost of vessel operations.

BOURBON will gain access to aggregated data from its vessels and develop new ways of operating them, while Kongsberg will benefit from improved understanding of client operations, including communication, cybersecurity, storage and management of vessel data.

Stene Førsund, executive vice president Global Sales and Marketing, Kongsberg Maritime, said: “Digitalization is vital to achieving greater efficiencies on board single vessels and entire fleets.

“By working closely with leading offshore marine companies like BOURBON, we can ensure our solutions meet the data needs of the industry today, while building a foundation for greater vessel autonomy in the future.”
