ABERDEEN, UK – TAQA has commissioned Bibby Offshore to perform subsea construction works at the Eider field, 184 km (114 mi) northeast of Shetland.
Under the six-month program, due to be completed this summer, Bibby is deploying its subsea support and construction vesselOlympic Ares and the diving support vessel Bibby Polaris.
The campaign involves connecting the Otter production pipeline to the Eider oil export line, and the Tern-Eider water injection pipeline to the Otter water injection pipeline using subsea bypass spools.
Bibby is supplying spool piece metrology, barrier testing, removal of existing production and water injection spools, and pre-commissioning support. In addition, its team is managing procurement, fabrication, and installation of new bypass spools.
