RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras’ production in Brazil last month averaged 2.61 MMboe/d.
Average oil production in the country was 2.12 MMb/d, a 3% drop compared to February. This was mainly due to maintenance stoppages on theFPSOCidade de Angra dos Reis at the Lula field in the Santos basin presalt, and on the P-37 at the Marlim field in the Campos basin.
In March, natural gas production in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, was 77.7 MMcm/d, 3% lower than in the previous month due to the mentioned stoppages.
The company’s presalt oil and natural gas production (operated by Petrobras and partners’ share) was also down at 1.50 MMboe/d.
Compared to March 2016, there was a 36% production increase mainly due to the beginning of production on theFPSOCidade de Saquarema at the Lula Central area, and on the FPSOCidade de Caraguatatuba at the Lapa field, in addition to the production increase on the FPSO Cidade de Marica at the Lula Alto area.
The company’s oil production in overseas fields rose 4% last month to 66,000 b/d, mainly from the return to production after stoppages in the Lucius and Hadrian South fields in the US Gulf of Mexico, which took place in February.
Natural gas production was 11.0 MMcm/d, a 31% increase over the volume produced in February. This increase resulted from a greater demand of gas production in Bolivia and from the resumption of production in the Lucius and Hadrian South fields.
