ARENDAL, Norway – Sevan Marine subsidiary HiLoad LNG has entered into a cooperation agreement with Fluor on use of HiLoad’s floating regasification dock LNG technology.
This is applicable to floating LNG receiving, storage, trans-shipment and regasification terminals, in formats from 50 MMcf/d to more than 400 MMcf/d.
The technology is said to allow a conventional LNG carrier to be used as the floating storage unit with a minimum of modifications and installation costs.
LNG regasification systems may be kept offshore without the need for port facilities, while remaining in operation during harsh weather and ocean conditions.
Pierre Bechelany, svp of pipelines and LNG at Fluor, said: “This agreement gives us the capability to evaluate and deliver both marine- and land-based LNG storage and regasification solutions.
“Our…global sourcing and fabrication yard capabilities, including ourCOOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries joint venture fabrication yard in China, allow us to uniquely deliver capital efficiency and schedule certainty to the LNG marketplace.”
