HOUSTON – 2H Offshore says it completed installation in February of the first of 17 production top tension risers (TTRs) on the TLP serving Total’s recently onstream Moho Nord field offshore Republic of Congo.
The company tensioned up the first production TTR and performed pressure tests prior to the completion drilling phase through the TTR.
The TLP, in 800 m (2,624 ft) water depth, is designed to allow simultaneous operations between drilling, production, completion, and coiled tubing intervention.
Its TTRs have been designed for 25 years of service life and can be fitted on any of the 27 well slots. The first 17 will be installed over the next four to five years, with Total then deciding whether to add further TTRs.
2H started work in 2011 on the conceptual study and initial engineering for Doris, and then for Total on the detailed design, execution and delivery of one high-pressure drilling riser and 17 production TTRs.
