Eni finds more gas, condensates offshore Libya

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has made a new gas and condensates discovery in Contract Area D offshore Libya.

The B1 16/3 well on the Gamma prospect was drilled in 150 m (492 ft) of water, 140 km (87 mi) off the Libyan coast. The discovery well reached a total depth of 2,981 m (9,780 ft) and encountered gas and condensates in the Metlaoui Group of Eocene age. It is located 15 km (9.3 mi) southwest of the Bouri field and 5 km (3 mi) north of theBahr Essalam field.

The company reports that in production configuration the well could deliver more than 7,000 boe/d.

Eni North Africa BV operates Contract Area D with a 100% working interest in the exploration phase.
