ABERDEEN, UKThe Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) and the Oil & Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC) will jointly fund and support development of innovations to designed to cut costs, raise production efficiency, and improve safety and environmental performance.

OGIC has made £1 million ($1.25 million) available to support companies with projects that require R&D to be conducted at a Scottish university. It is prepared to fund up to 70% of these costs, while ITF can provide “top-up” help if a project engages the interest of its members.

Accessing Scottish university capability and industry expertise will help developers get their innovations closer to market, OGIC claims.

Applications, due in by April 30, can relate to any type of innovation that could benefit the oil and gas industry, and the developer can be of any size and from any country.

However, supported innovations must involve research and/or development at a Scottish university.
