CALGARY, Canada – Husky Energy says preparations have been finalized for two exploration wells in the Flemish Pass basin offshore Newfoundland.
Drilling is due to start in mid-year.
As for the company’s producing offshore projects in the region, a new infill well was completed at the South White Rose extension. This is currently flowing 3,000 b/d net to Husky and continuing to ramp up.
The first of two additional White Rose infill wells scheduled for 2017 is now onstream and producing 8,600 b/d net to the company. Both wells are/will be tied back to theSeaRose FPSO.
The West White Rose extension could be sanctioned later this year.
Elsewhere, Husky says construction has finished of offshore facilities for the liquids-richBD project in the Madura Strait offshore Indonesia.
The shallow-water platform and subsea pipeline installation is complete, and the FPSO is on site. Production should build to the full sales gas rate during the second half of 2017.
As for theMDA-MBH fields, Indonesia’s government has approved the award of the bid for a leased floating production unit.
The engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract has been signed and the platforms are under construction. First gas is due in 2018-19, with an additional shallow-water field at MDK to be tied in during the same period.
