ExxonMobil details offshore projects nearing completion

ExxonMobil expects to start up five major offshore upstream projects in 2017 and 2018, which will contribute an additional 340,000 boe/d to the company’s global production capacity.

NEW YORK – ExxonMobil expects to start up five major offshore upstream projects in 2017 and 2018, which will contribute an additional 340,000 boe/d to the company’s global production capacity.

Odoptu Stage 2offshore Sakhalin Island and Hebron offshore Newfoundland are both due to start production by year-end.

Others nearing start-up are the Upper Zakum expansion offshore the UAE, Barzan off Qatar, andKaombo in block 32 offshore Angola.

By 2020,ExxonMobil also aims to begin production from the 1-Bboe deepwater Liza field off Guyana, less than five years after the initial discovery well.
