OSLO, Norway – Marlink will broaden its Sealink VSAT solution across Teekay’s shuttle tanker fleet.

Teekay is said to be the world’s largest owner and operator of shuttle tankers operating alongside offshore installations.

Since 2011 the company has applied Marlink’s high bandwidth Sealink VSAT service. It has now extended the terms to remote operations and increased bandwidth to support more connected applications on board thevessels.

In addition, Teekay has chosen the Marlink solution for three newbuild shuttle tankers.

Benefits are said to include a faster, more flexible service for day-to-day vessel and business operations. The shuttle tankers will continue to benefit from equipment already on board such as antennas, modems, and routers.
