CNR prepares for North Sea Ninian platform decommissioning

CALGARY, Canada – Canadian Natural Resources plans to start abandonment of the Ninian North platform in the UK northern North Sea later this year.

The company made the announcement in a statement on its global reserves. At the end of 2016 its proven North Sea resources has decreased 15% to 141 MMboe.

North Sea proved plus probable reserves decreased 11% to 267 MMboe.

Offshore West Africa, the company’s proven reserves fell by 3% to 92 MMboe, largely due to 2016 production performance, while proved plus probable reserves in this region slid 5% to 146 MMboe.
