Atwood agrees to ultra-deepwater semi switch for Greater Enfield wells

Atwood Oceanics says its Australian subsidiary’s drilling services contract with Woodside Energy for the Greater Enfield development offshore Western Australia has been amended.

HOUSTON – Atwood Oceanics says its Australian subsidiary’s drilling services contract with Woodside Energy for the Greater Enfield development offshore Western Australia has been amended.

As a result, the semisubmersibleAtwood Osprey will be substituted with the ultra-deepwater DP semi Atwood Condor.

Drilling is due to start by 1Q 2018 at a rate of $222,295/d for a total of 12 wells, with a mobilization fee of $36.5 million.

Woodside and the subsidiary have also agreed to deploy theAtwood Osprey for an additional exploration well, due to get under way in 2018 at a rate of $190,000/d.
