    Statoil tightens grip on Byrding offshore Norway

    Statoil has completed acquisition of a 25% interest from Wintershall in the Byrding project in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

    STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil has completed acquisition of a 25% interest from Wintershall in the Byrding project in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

    This lifts Statoil’s operated stake in the oil and gas field, in license PL090B, to 70%.

    Byrding is under development via the Troll facilities, and is due to come onstream this summer.
