Shearwater, TGS sign two-survey deal

Shearwater GeoServices Norway AS has signed agreements with TGS for two seismic surveys offshore Norway.

BERGEN, Norway – Shearwater GeoServices Norway AS has signed agreements with TGS for two seismic surveys offshore Norway.

The surveys, one firm and one optional, are scheduled to begin between March and May. The contractor said they will cover a total of about 15,000 sq km (5,792 sq mi) and will be performed by two of its 3D vessels.

The scope of the firmly awarded survey equals to about six vessel months and requires a wide tow spread. The optional scope equals to four additional vessel months.

Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater GeoServices, said: “We are very happy to be work with TGS, who is a key client and a significant purchaser of geophysical services. TGS has historically acquired many successful surveys utilizing Shearwater’s vessels.

“The contracts represent continuous utilization for two of our vessels for the spring and summer season supporting our strategy to build solid backlog for our fleet in a highly competitive marketplace.”

Days ago, it was announced thatGC Rieber Shipping completed the transaction with Rasmussengruppen to form the jointly owned Shearwater.
