NORTH SYDNEY, Australia – Production from the BassGas project in the Bass basin offshore southeast Australia fell 32% in 4Q 2016 (compared with the previous quarter).
According to partnerAWE, the facilities delivered 3.1 PJ of gas, 101,000 bbl of condensate, and 7,500 metric tons of LPG.
Production was impacted by the planned 26-day BassGas integrity shutdown in November-December.
At the same time, work continued to hookup and commission compression and condensate pumping modules on theYolla platform, where startup is targeted for 4Q 2017.
AWE adds that in the T/RL2 concession, the operator is progressing development concept studies for the offshore Trefoil field, while in the nearby offshore Otway basin, the VIC/P44 permit partners are reviewing options for future exploration, with a view to prove further reserves for tie-in to infrastructure serving theCasino field.
At the Ande Ande Lumut oil project in the northwest Natuna Sea (AWE 50%), analysis continues of data and oil samples from theAAL-4XST1 appraisal well.
Work is under way to optimize the planned field development in light of new data from the well. In addition, the partners are assessing the G-Sand resource through laboratory work to determine the feasibility of co-mingled production of K-sand and G-sand oil.
Evaluation of FPSO and wellhead platform tenders has finished, and the operator is currently preparing recommendations for Stage 2 commercial tenders.
The project’s economics are under review due to a combination of improved crude quality and oil prices, and anticipated reduced FPSO, platform, and drilling costs.
