HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged over the past week, staying at 22, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Dec. 16, 2016. That number is down by two year-over-year.
That makestwo weeks in a row that the US GoM rig count has been tallied at 22.
The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored theGoM rig count, staying steady at 22; and that number was also down by two year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 13 week-over-week at 637, with oil rigs up by 12 to 510, gas rigs up by one to 126, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down by 72 rigs, with oil rigs down by 31, gas rigs down by 42, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.
