Aibel starts work on North Sea Troll module add-on

Statoil has awarded Aibel a front-end engineering and design study for a new gas module on the Troll C platform in the North Sea.

BERGEN, Norway – Statoil has awarded Aibel a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study for a new gas module on the Troll C platform in the North Sea.
Work on the FEED is due to be completed in May 2017, after which Statoil may exercise a further option with Aibel for the implementation phase – project planning, purchasing, fabrication, and installation – which would continue until the end of 2019.
Aibel’s scope includes project planning, building and installation of the module, and associated work on the platform. The company is managing the FEED process from its office in Bergen, which has extensive experience of modification work on platforms offshore Norway. Its yard in Haugesund will handle any subsequent construction award.
Total value, including the option is more than NOK600 million ($70.7 million).
