SINGAPORE – KrisEnergy has reported oil production from the Wassana field in the G10/48 license in the Gulf of Thailand dropped to around 6,200 b/d in 3Q, mainly due to mechanical issues with five wells and declining well productivity.
However, well performance improved following re-perforation work in October, the operator said. Larger-capacity pumps will also be installed in two other wells during workovers scheduled to start in December.
Planning continues for potential drilling of three additional development wells targeting newly discovered oil reserves at Wassana and for side tracking of two existing wells in order to fit more productive horizontal completions.
If approved, drilling is expected to start in the second half of 2017.
At the company’s other fields offshore Thailand, four new infill wells were completed in September at theNong Yao oil field in the G11/48 license, lifting production.
The B8/32 and B9A fields are producing at their highest rates in more than three years following wireline zonal recompletions, with average oil production in 3Q of around 29,150 b/d and gas just over 148 MMcf/d.
Offshore Indonesia, the Block A Aceh joint venture partners have approved a gas development, following the earlier award of the first and second engineering procurement and construction contracts for the flowlines, trunklines, and pipelines.
Atblock A offshore Cambodia, KrisEnergy has assumed respective 28.5% and 14.25% interests previously held by Mitsui Oil Exploration and GS Energy, raising the company’s overall stake to 95%.
