OSLO, Norway – Total E&P Norge has proven more hydrocarbons close to its Martin Linge complex in the Norwegian North Sea.

The jackupMaersk Intrepid drilled wildcat well 30/4-3 S northeast of the Martin Linge field in 115 m (377 ft) of water in production license 043.

According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, the well encountered gas and condensate in the Tarbert, Ness, and Etive formations in the Brent group, with good reservoir quality.

Initial analysis suggests in the range of 2-11 MMcmoe recoverable.

A formation test flowed gas at rates of up to 2.4 MMcm/d through a 48/64-in. nozzle opening.
