HOUSTON – McDermott International retains a strong backlog of Middle East area fabrication activity following the recent award of three new EPCI projects for Saudi Aramco.
Much of this work was taken up by the Lump Sum project awarded under theSaudi Aramco LTA II agreement, with the KJO Hout, Marjan power system replacement project, and Bul Hanine platform jackets progressing well.
McDermott cut first steel at its new Dammam yard during a ceremony in Saudi Arabia. This site will work with the company’s Jebel Ali yard in the UAE to execute the LTA II Lump Sum project fabrication scope, with Dammam supported by the company’s Engineering and Project Management office in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Installation of the last of 12 jackets ordered by Aramco has been completed with only minor project closeout work remaining.
All McDermott’s offshore Qatar projects are on schedule, with the main focus on the completion of the Bul Hanine jackets, due to be installed during the current quarter.
