MOSCOW – Gazprom has received a survey permit for two strings of the TurkStream gas pipeline’s offshore section in Turkey’s territorial waters in the Black Sea.
Alexey Miller, chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, said: “I would like to highlight the constructiveness and promptness on the part of our Turkish partners. TheTurkStream project is progressing at commendable speed.”
In December 2014, Gazprom and Turkey’s Botas signed a memorandum of understanding to construct the TurkStream gas pipeline.
The pipeline will run 660 km (410 mi) along the old route of the scrappedSouth Stream project and 250 km (155 mi) of a new route toward the European part of Turkey.
Its first string will be likely used exclusively for gas supplies to the Turkish market.
