LONDON – Eni could drill an exploratory well in 2018 on the Rowallan prospect in UK central North Sea block 22/19c, according to partner Serica Energy.
This is a potentially a large high-pressure/high-temperature gas/condensate prospect with analogies to theCulzean field, currently under development in nearby block 22/25a.
Preparatory site work for drilling are likely to start next year, with two similar prospects, Dundonald and Sundrum, also identified on the license.
In the East Irish Sea off northwest England, Serica has a 20% interest in blocks 113/22a, 113/26b and 113/27c, containing the shallow-water Doyle gas prospect.
OperatorZennor Petroleum, which estimates gross resources of 265 bcf, is looking to drill a well in 2017/18.
Serica continues planning for itsColumbus gas/condensate field development, 5 km (3.1 mi) north of the Lomond platform in the UK central North Sea, which has been fully appraised by four wells over blocks 23/16f and 23/21a.
The company is working with theOil and Gas Authority and the operator of Lomond on low-cost development concepts that could add value to Lomond and the Erskine facilities too by reducing unit operating costs over the platform.
These concepts include a long reach well from the Lomond platform.
Serica hopes to take a financial investment decision on Columbus in 2017.
