GODALMING, UK – Hurricane Energy says a horizontal side track well on its fractured basement Lancaster oil field west of Shetland has delivered a sustained flow rate of 14,500 b/d, with no formation water, helped by an electrical submersible pump.
The flow rate was constrained by the available test equipment.
The company plans to suspend the well for use as a future producer, ahead of theearly production system phase of development.
CEO Dr. Robert Trice said: “We are highly encouraged by this flow rate which reinforces our reservoir model and further demonstrates the production potential of the Lancaster field.”
