MANCHESTER, UK – Marginal Field Development Co. (MFDevCo) has entered into an agreement under which Aibel will take on the role of partner EPC contractor for MFDevCo’s marginal field initiative and other projects.
Aibel joined MFDevCo’sMarginal Field Delivery Consortium in February to provide project management and EPC services. The new agreement steps up Aibel’s commitment to co-develop marginal and stranded field projects.
The Norwegian contractor has committed to invest in a working structure forMFDevCo and the consortium. This involves supporting business development through provision of upfront engineering on target projects and engineering services to further the engineering specification and refinement of MFDevCo’s existing solutions.
All parties are looking to target fields in deeper water, improve cost efficiencies, and take advantage of emerging proven technologies.
The partnership should also improve the consortium’s ability to demonstrate at an early evaluation stage the technical suitability of solutions for a given field and the associated costs.
