Lundin, SeaBird coordinate long-offset program in the Barents Sea

SeaBird Exploration will acquire a long-offset 2D multi-client survey in the Norwegian Barents Sea during September and October.

LIMASSOL, Cyprus – SeaBird Exploration will acquire a long-offset 2D multi-client survey in the Norwegian Barents Sea during September and October.
The company designed the survey jointly withLundin Norway.
They aim to acquire long-offset profiles that image large-scale, deep-seated crustal structures beneath theBarents Sea. Lundin will supervise processing of the resultant dataset.
SeaBird will use theHarrier Explorer vessel for the campaign.
Earlier this month the company entered into a contract to acquire another vessel,Hawk Explorer, which it has chartered since 2006.
SeaBird will pay $1.1 million, including the vessel’s seismic equipment, and will cancel all future lease payments and additional obligations under the charter agreement.
