TANAP commissions SapuraKencana for offshore Turkey gas pipeline section

TANAP Doğalgaz İletim has awarded SapuraKencana TL Offshore a RM510-million ($125-million) EPCI contract for the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – TANAP Doğalgaz İletim has awarded SapuraKencana TL Offshore (SKTLO) a RM510-million ($125-million) EPCI contract for the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
This will take gas from theShah Deniz II field offshore Azerbaijan via the Southern Gas Corridor project through Georgia and Turkey and onward to various countries in southeast Europe.
SKTLO will be responsible for theoffshore pipelines and fiber-optic cables at the section of TANAP that runs offshore the Dardanelles Strait in the Sea of Marmara, Turkey. Work starts during the current quarter and is scheduled to be complete in 3Q 2018.
TANAP is 58% owned by SOCAR, 30% by Turkey’s state-owned BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corp., and 12% by BP.
