The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized ENGIE E&P Norge to drill an exploratory well in the Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized ENGIE E&P Norge (ex-GDF Suez) to drill an exploratory well in the Norwegian North Sea.
The semisubmersibleTransocean Arctic will drill well 36/7-4 in production license 636, after completing its current operation for Faroe Petroleum on the Brasse prospect.
This will be ENGIE’s first well on the concession which was awarded in February 2012. The location is 10 km (6.2 mi) northwest of the company’s Gjøa field and 55 km (34 mi) southwest of Florø.
