SINGAPORE – The 13,900-metric ton (15,322-ton) platform deck for the Ivar Aasen project in the Norwegian North Sea has begun its voyage from the Sembawang yard.
According to operatorDet norske oljeselskap, the Cosco vessel Xiang Rui Kou is expected to deliver the structure to the field location next month.
The living quarters, built at Stord, will be installed on the deck, which will then be lifted into place on the pre-installed jacket. Det norske anticipates first oil on Dec. 1.
