HAUGESUND, Norway – BP has contracted Aibel to provide a yard stay and assistance with final preparations of the Glen Lyon FPSO, due to serve the Quad204 project west of Shetland.
The 270-m (886-ft) long, 52-m (170-ft) wide FPSO is the largest ever to dock at Aibel Haugesund, where it will likely remain for the next two months. This will be the FPSO’s final stop on its journey toward the Schiehallion field.
Aibel will assist BP withGlen Lyon’s final preparations, providing assorted marine operations and fabrication activities, also cooperating in a function test of a mechanical winch.
